Rabbi David Debow, Director
infuses his classes with relevance and creativity. He served as teacher, Miashgiach Ruchani and Principal of Fuchs Mizrachi High School in Cleveland. Since making Aliya, has taught in Midreshet Harovah, Midreshet Lindenbaum, Michlelet Orot, Graduate of Yeshivat Har Etzion and graduate of Yeshiva University and Ursuline College.
Dr. Yocheved Debow, Academic Principal
holds a BA in Psychology and Education, and an MA in Child Clinical and Educational Psychology. She received her doctorate in Education at Bar Ilan University as a presidential fellow. She studied Limmudei Kodesh at Michlalah, Jerusalem College for Women.
Ms. Marion Levkovits, Administrative Director
the heart behind every logistical factor of our program. Completed BA in Languages, University of Amsterdam, involved in administration at Michlalot for over 25 years.
Rivi Frankel, Program Coordinator
has run programs in countries all over the world. Rivi connects with people through learning Torah and music. She studied at Midreshet Tehilla and is finalizing her degree in management. She served as Madricha at Midreshet Emunah v'Omanut for two years and is now in her 3rd successful year as Program Coordinator.
Mrs Chaykee Mor, Eim Bayit and Director of Communications
has her heart and home open to our girls 24-7. She is skilled in graphic arts and web design, performing arts, silver-smithing, belaying, hang-gliding and she is currently studying life coaching and animation.
Lauren Tessler, Madricha
graduated from Yeshiva University's Stern College for women with a BA in Psychology and English Literature. She was active on campus with the acapella group; B'Notes, as well as the Stern College Dramatics Society. Guitar at the ready, she is a fabulous asset to our team, constantly bringing the girls together with her calming and positive nature.
Pnina Zeitlin, Madricha
made Aliyah on her own in 2009. She volunteered with sherut leumi in a gan for children with autism and is now studying special education at David Yelin of Jerusalem. She displays mastery in figure skating, dancing and plays the Cello.
Faculty
Our teachers are all chosen because they are experts in their fields and share a sensitivity to Torah values and creative expression.
Rav Jonathan Bailey received his BA in English Literature at Yeshiva University and his Smicha at Yeshivat Hamivtar. He was the Judaic Studies Coordinator for a high school in Baltimore, MD and taught Tanach, Gemara and Literature to students and adults. Having made aliyah in 2006, he now teaches at Midrashot Harova, Lindenbaum and Emunah v'Omanut.
Mrs. Nechama Barash graduated from Stern College and the Advanced Talmud Institute at Matan, a three year intensive program for Talmud study. Taught at Pardes, Midreshet Lindenbaum, Midreshet Harova and Michlelet Emunah. She is also a freelance writer, translator and editor.
Rabbi Fivel Yedidya Glasser studied for smicha with Rav Shuki Klein and Rabbi Shlomo Riskin at Yeshivat Hamivtar. He also studied at Shappel's, Bat Ayin and Sulam Yaakov. He completed his BA in Religion at Dartmouth College and MA in Theological Studies at Harvard University. He is founder and director of P'tach Libi, an experiential Jewish wilderness program.
Rabbi Bramson is known to be a warm and engaging teacher, who caters to the needs of each individual student. His ability to incorporate comments and concerns from across the spectrum makes him a truly universal educator. He has Rabbinical Ordination from Yeshiva University in addition to a BA in Psychology and currently teaches at Machon Maayan and Tiferet.
Rav Yisrael Cohn studied at Yeshivat Kerem B'Yavneh and has Semicha from Yeshivat Hamivtar. He has an MA in Jewish Law from University of London, and an MS in Clinical Sociology from University of North Texas. He is an ATID fellow.
Rabbi Yaacov Don is a graduate of the Har-Etzion Yeshiva [Gush], Rav Don has been teaching in programs, formal and informal since 1990. He received his smicha from the Chief Rabbinate of Israel, and earned an MA at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. After 4 successful years as a shaliach in Toronto, Rav Don returned to Israel and taught at Midreshet HaRova and served as principal of NOAM.
Mrs. Inbar Gabay-Zada has a BA in Jewish History and Tanach from Bar Ilan University and is completing her teaching degree at Herzog College and her MA in Jewish History at Bar Ilan University. She has co-headed Beit Midrash programs at Bar Ilan University and in Michlelet Mevaseret Yerushalayim. She is also a guide at the Western Wall Tunnel Tours.
Rabbi Mordechai Greenfield
Earned a BA in psychology, a MSW and a certification in drug and substance abuse counseling; Worked as a chef, kitchen manager, and ran the catering company FOODMASTERS LTD; Teacher for the past 15 years in various women's seminaries teaching Hashkafa, Revelation in the Matrix and recently, avocation turned vocation, Ceramic Art.
Miriam Miller B.eD. in Tanach and Education from Michlala. M.eD. Harvard University Boston Mass. Teaching Degree from Michlala. Certificate in Teaching Under Priviliged children to think via Hebrew University Jerusalem.
Rabbi Moshe Simkovich has taught at a number of yeshivot and schools in America and Israel,was founding Head of SchoolofStern/Kohelet HS in Philadelphia, and of lateserved as Mashgiach Ruchani at Yeshivat Yesodei HaTorah in Bet Shemesh. He received a semicha under the guidance of Rabbi Moshe Meiselman while at YULA, and a BA and MA from University of Chicago in the Social Sciences.
Zeev Ben-Shachar is an educator for the David Project. In the IDF, he served with the infantry unit Sayeret Givati, as a combat soldier and then as a commander. Zeev received his undergraduate degree from Harvard College and stayed on to teach in the Psychology and Middle Eastern Studies departments, where he received Harvard's certificate of distinction for excellence in teaching. Zeev is currently pursuing an MA in Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University.
The Arts Faculty
Jeffrey Allon studied in the Professional Program, Advanced Studies in Painting and Drawing at Studio Incamminati for over three years. He also earned his BA in fine arts from Hampshire College, and received a Certificate of Art in Advanced Printmaking and Book Arts from the Croydon College of Art and Design in England. In addition to teaching painting and drawing, Jeff works as a professional artist from his studio in Tekoa, south of Jerusalem. See Art
Andi Arnovitz is a master printmaker, Arnovitz has expanded her artistic lexicon to include multiple media, frequently synthesizing an expansive range of techniques in order to treat controversial topics of religious, political and social nature. Arnovitz has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, in the U.S., Israel, Spain, Poland, France, Lithuania, Canada, and Bulgaria. Her work is found in museum and private collections internationally. See Art
Ms. Eva Avidar did a BFA at the Bezaalel Academy of Art and Design followed by a MA from the Royal College of Art, in London, UK. She then became the Artist in residence at Clay Studio of Philadelphia. She participated in many group and solo exhibitions and is world-renowned. She won the Oriana Prize for Fine Art and The Young Artists Award, Rotchild Fund among other honors. She currently runs the fine arts program at Emunah College of the Arts for Women. See Art
Sylvia Baram studied at the Avni Art Institute in Tel Aviv and the Rubin Academy of Music. She exhibited in groups and solo all across the world and won the 2000 Mordechai and Shoshana Ish-Shalom Prize for Jerusalem Artists. She did her residency in Italy and now teaches at Emmunah College, Michalala College and here, at Midreshet Emunah v'Omanut. See Art
Mrs. Gayle Berman holds a Masters of Music in vocal performance and Choral Conducting. She served on the music faculties of several universities in the U.S. She was Founding Director of the Jewish Women's Chorus of Western Massachusetts. She is also the Music Director for Raise Your Spirits, an all women theatre troup here in Israel.
Cecilia Cohen is an internationally-recognized glass artist and author. She dedicates her classes to teaching the fundamentals of stained glass as a medium for creativity, self-expression, and spirituality. See Art
Alona Cole studied music at the Liceo Conservatory, Barcelona Spain, and continued classic studies at the Reuben Academy, Jerusalem. A versatile vocal stylist who won a recording contract with Sony records during an eight-year sojourn in Spain, Alona is also 1 of 4 members in a woman's band called 'The Hot Mamas'
Rivkah Ginat is a sought after operatic performer for women’s events across Israel. She studied classical voice for eight years with vocal coaches in Israel, the US and Australia and composes inspired works. Her vivacious approach, creative energy and musical talents infect the music program with the joy of music and Judaism. In addition, she holds a BA in Psychology and English and works in therapeutic settings in Jerusalem.
Batnadiv Hakarmi-Weinberg studied art at the New York Studio School, the Slade, the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, Italy, and the Jerusalem Studio School. She has exhibited in group shows in Israel and abroad. In tandem with her artistic pursuits, Batnadiv has explored the influence of the Bible on Western culture in her academic studies. She holds an MA in Comparative Literature from the Hebrew University, where she was awarded the Rector's Prize and the Wolf Foundation Award. See Art
Eryn London holds a BA from Goucher College (Theater major / Psychology and Judaic studies double minor), and a MA in Applied Drama: Theater in Educational, Community and Social Contexts from Goldsmiths, University of London. She also spent a year studying at the Pardes Institute of Jewish studies.
Beni Rubinstein is a professional photographer with a vast knowledge in classic and modern methodology of the art. His creative eye makes for a interesting, challenging and inspirational workshop. Indoor, outdoor, posed and natural...Beni's our guy. See Art
Micah Smith - Founder, Executive Producer and Director of Shoot East. A graduate with honors from the prestigious New York University Tisch School of the Arts, Kanbar Institute of Film and Television, Micah has directed and edited films and videos for over 15 years. Micah is an award winning narrative and documentary filmmaker whose films have played in over 45 festivals around the world including the USA, Canada, Australia, Austria, Hong Kong, and Argentina. Michal Yardeni has been a musician for more than 20 years and studied guitar at the University of Manitoba in Canada. Her lessons include almost all styles and levels in addition to music theory, ear training, transcribing, songwriting etc, She strives for her students to have fun while learning the necessary skills for artistry with the guitar.
As per instrument choice, expert instructors offer individual lessons in piano, drums, flute, cello, violin, and guitar.
Integrative Studio is taught by various rotating artists proficient in their field such as calligraphy, paper cuts,
silk painting, animation, and screen-printing.
