Staff
The Eim Bayit lives in your
dormitory with an open door and
warmly provides a listening ear. Madrichot
understand your needs. Teachers discuss
and create with you beyond the bounds
of classroom hours. The director is
attentive to your concerns.
Food
You will enjoy tasty catered meals
with an ample supply of greens. Menus
will be chosen in consultation with a
qualified nutritionist and with an overseas
palate in mind.
Dormitory
You will be housed in a
secure nearby building. The building will
be guarded. Your rooms will be designed
with overseas students in mind providing
adequate comfort and storage space. A
modest kitchenette also provides you
with convenience and independence.
The Neighborhood
You will live,
study and create in the beautiful Baka
neighborhood of Jerusalem. You will
be in walking distance of a variety of
synagogues, the Talpiyot shopping district
and the shops and restaurants of Emek
Refaim. The neighborhood of Katamon
is also close by with its supply of home
hospitality and wonderful places to
daven. A women’s only Health Club
and various community centers in the
area provide an opportunity for regular
exercise.
Shabbatot and Chaggim
You
will enjoy a full in-Shabbat program
on the average of every third Shabbat.
On an out-Shabbat, the Eim Bayit and
madrichot will help you with Shabbat
arrangements. You will have the option
of remaining in the dormitory however
meal arrangements will be your
responsibility. The teachers and staff
of Emunah V’Omanut look forward to
hosting you often as we view our homes
as an extension of the program. For a
particularly meaningful experience, you
will also have opportunities to spend
Shabbatot in Emunah residential homes.
Integration with Israelis
You will
find a wonderful opportunity to live and
learn with the more than 300 religious
young women on campus. Although
most classes will be separate, as our
program focuses on the educational
needs of English-speaking students, other
opportunities to learn and grow with
your Israeli counterparts exist. You may
arrange chevrutot and possibly take some
art courses together. We will plan tiyyulim
and studio visits together. We feel it is
important that you encounter Israel and
Israelis this year. In informal chuggim you
will come to understand current events.
