Questions and Answers:
Who should apply?
If both Torah and Art are significant parts
of who you are then Emunah V’Omanut
is a program you should consider. You
will want to participate in a community
of young women committed to Torah and
Mitzvot who want to grow religiously
and personally. You should have found
success and enjoyment in Torah learning
as this program will continue to offer
textual study as a significant part of your
daily activities. You should also have had
some experience and demonstrate artistic
talent. Achievement reflected in grades and
standardized tests is less of a concern than
commitment and drive.
What are the security arrangements?
Both the campus and dormitory are
secured areas guarded with trained security
personnel. We have further engaged a
communication service whereby we can
communicate instantly with all of our
students through SMS messaging.
What type of supervision exists?
A trained staff of madrichot and an Eim
Bayit in addition to the director will
provide around the clock supervision.
Students need to be in the dormitory by
midnight. Students traveling outside of the
program must leave names and contact
numbers for where they will be sleeping.
Attendance will be monitored.
What happens during breaks?
Although school will not be in session
during Sukkot and around Pesach, many
programs exist that cater to young women
seeking meaningful experiences in Israel
during this time. The madrichot will
work with the girls to help find suitable
programs. You are welcome to stay in your
dormitory rooms. During this period,
supervision will be in place; however,
students will be responsible for their
own meals.
Are there grades and assignments?
The atmosphere of Emunah V’Omanut will
encourage mature development for all
students without the external measures
and added stress of grades. Transcripts
will be issued with P/F grades. These
grades will be based on participation,
growth and attendance. However,
students will have the possibility of
earning a grade on their transcript
with the completion of a summarizing
assignment. These assignments will be
guided by the instructors and commonly
take the form of papers. Optional tests are
encouraged as a means for self-evaluation,
focused review and markers of progress.
Can I transfer credit?
Emunah V'Omanut is a member of the
S. Daniel Abraham Israel Program
with Yeshiva University. Our Alumni have received a full year of credit from
Stern College in New York and York University in Toronto.
Emunah College grants a Bachelors of
Education degree and is recognized by
the Israeli Ministry of Education as an
institute of higher academic learning.
Therefore, the Emunah V’Omanut program
may qualify for transfer credits at other institutions depending
on the criteria of each school to which
you apply.
What is the language of instruction?
Most classes are conducted in English but
all will assume facility with Hebrew texts.
For students with advanced Hebrew there
may be possibilities for taking Hebrew
courses at the College in order to expand
options and bring Emunah V’Omanut
students into contact with the broader
population of Emunah College.
How much does the program cost?
Tuition is $17,500, which includes
a full double program of Torah and
arts instruction, meal program and
dormitory. The price also covers tiyyulim,
shabbatonim, studio workshops and day
long seminars. There is an additional fee
